Getting started
Do I need to download an app?
No. Bukuzi works inside WhatsApp. You save the Bukuzi number and chat with it like any contact. You can also open your reports in a phone browser.
How do I start?
Tap “Start on WhatsApp”, send the ready message and tell Bukuzi your business name. Then send your first receipt. It takes about a minute.
Do I need a card for the free trial?
No. The 2 free weeks start without a card.
Using Bukuzi
What can I send?
Receipt and invoice photos, voice notes (up to 45 seconds) and normal text such as “sold 3 bags of cement for 450”.
Which languages does it understand?
English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic, Russian and Swahili. It answers in the language you write in.
What if Bukuzi gets something wrong?
It always shows you what it understood. If something is wrong, just reply, for example “no, it was 40”, and it fixes the entry.
Does it work with more than one currency?
Yes. Each currency is kept separately, so pesos, reais and dollars never get mixed.
Tax and accountants
Does it replace my accountant?
No. Bukuzi keeps the day-to-day records. Your accountant checks them, files your returns and gives advice, with clean records instead of a bag of receipts.
Does Bukuzi file my taxes?
No. It records VAT on your receipts and, on VAT Pro, prepares VAT summaries for you or your accountant to file.
How does my accountant see my records?
You invite your accountant and they see your records in their own free dashboard, with the photo of every receipt.
Privacy and data
Can Bukuzi read my other WhatsApp chats?
No. Bukuzi only receives the messages you send to the Bukuzi number.
Do you sell my data?
No. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. Only you and an accountant you invite can see your records.
What happens to my data if I stop?
You can download all your records as a spreadsheet first. After you close your account, your data is deleted within 90 days, as described in our privacy policy.
